The Supreme Courtroom has asked telecom organizations to file their money statements just before it and mounted adjusted gross profits (AGR) linked dues circumstance from them for hearing in July.
The Office of Telecommunications sought time from the apex court docket to respond to telcos replies on payment of AGR linked dues by them.
The DoT also filed affidavit describing explanation for raising Rs 4 trillion need of AGR linked dues from PSUs previously.
The Centre told that the DoT has resolved to withdraw 96 for every cent of the Rs 4 trillion need for AGR linked dues raised from non-telecom PSUs like GAIL.
A bench of justices Arun Mishra, S Abdul Nazeer and M R Shah was knowledgeable by Solicitor Common Tushar Mehta that the DoT has filed an affidavit describing the explanation for raising the need of AGR linked dues from the PSUs.
The DoT sought time from the bench, which is hearing the make any difference by online video-conferencing, to respond to the affidavits filed by telecom organizations, which includes Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Thought Ltd, on payment of AGR dues by them.
Throughout the hearing, the bench asked about the safety and ensures which can be sought from telecom organizations to be certain repayment of AGR dues.
