Iran bowed to domestic tension by suspending the dying sentences of a few alleged antigovernment protesters, but executed a guy convicted of spying for the U.S. and Israel in a signal it would display no leniency toward all those accused of collaborating with its overseas foes.
Iran’s judiciary said Monday it had agreed to retry a few protesters who ended up arrested for the duration of demonstrations in November around the country’s troubled financial system and sentenced to dying.
