Taliban Seek to Participate in U.N. Gathering in Bid to Win International Support

NEW YORK—The Taliban are searching for to take part in the United Nations once-a-year collecting as aspect of the Afghan militant group’s effort and hard work to gain worldwide recognition, after its military services victory toppled Afghanistan’s U.S.-backed federal government.

The business office of U.N. Secretary-Typical António Guterres gained a letter from Taliban international minister Amir Khan Muttaqi on Monday inquiring to take part in the U.N. Typical Assembly, according to the U.N. spokesman Stéphane Dujarric.
