Tatas puts Cafe Coffee Day’s buy on back-burner

The Tata Team, which was in the superior phases of talks to acquire Cafe Espresso Day’s (CCD) vending equipment business for at least ₹1,000 crore, has set the deal on the back-burner following the latter heading for bankruptcy.

A Tata Team firm, Tata Buyer Items, was in talks to acquire the CCD’s espresso vending business, held via a subsidiary Espresso Working day World Ltd (CGDL).

 

“The deal was in the closing legs, permissions from CDGL’s creditors had been also attained. Even so, it has been set on hold as CCD creditors are thought to be moving Countrywide Business Regulation Tribunal beneath Insolvency and Personal bankruptcy Code, which would completely complicate the takeover designs.
