Morrisons plans shops with no checkouts

Morrisons is screening supermarkets with no checkouts or employees that would let consumers merely walk out with their bag of browsing in a shift to rival Amazon’s Refreshing shops.

The grocer, which is the topic of a multi-billion pound takeover tussle, has been screening the principle known internally as Job Sarah at its Bradford head workplace. The store is open up to countless numbers of employees and the FTSE one hundred retailer plans to expand the strategy more widely.

Britain’s fourth-biggest supermarket is working with US technologies enterprise AiFi, which utilizes cameras to track the objects consumers choose up and set in their baskets, and expenses them as a result of a smartphone application.
